Can't set AF-C

edited December 2014 Posted in » Nikon D3200 Forum
Hello,

On the D3200 I press the 'i' button then go to 'focus mode' and under there I only have AF-A and MF selections. I do not have AF-C. I have tried two different lenses. The 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 set to 'A' mode, and a 50mm f/1.8 set to M/A (as opposed to M), and neither allow me to set AF-C. How do I get the AF-C selection to appear?

Thank you!

    Hello jclh,
AF-C and AF-S focus modes are only available in M, A, S and P modes. If you are shooting in AUTO, AUTO flash off or in any of the Scene Modes, then only AF-A or MF will be available. When you select Live View, AF-F then becomes available in all shooting modes. Have a look at pages 35 and 81of the D3200 Reference Manual. It gives good info on all the Focus Modes.
