Hoya 52mm Lens for a D5100

edited January 2013 Posted in » Nikon D5100 Forum
Hi, my dad gave me one of his old lenses to try. It is for Nikon and it says Hoya 52mm on it. We were able to get it to lock but the camera won't shoot a picture at all with this lens on. Any thoughts? Thank you!

Hi there. I use the same camera, and what you have to remember is the D5100 uses AF-S lenses. It can use older AF lenses but will not be able to focus so you would have set your mode dial to manual and then manually focus your lens. I hope this answers your problem.
