Whale watching tour pictures

edited July 2012 Posted in » Canon 60D Forum
I just bought the 60D with the 18-200mm lens. I am going to Alaska and will be going on a whale watching tour. I was wondering what I settings I should put my camera on.

Low ISO and fast shutter speed would be favorable as you might experience very bright lighting conditions, or you can select a smaller aperture instead of a fast shutter!
Alternatively you can buy filters like a polarizer filter to get good results.

@wendygolden - I would recommend a good Circle Polarizer filter. This will help a lot with the reflection from the water. Even if it is a cloudy day you are going to get a good bit of light relfection. Good luck.
