Lens adapter for using old Minolta lenses

edited May 2012 Posted in » Nikon D3100 Forum
I have heard that I can use old SLR lenses by using a special mount adapter. Obviously I lose the auto functions, but I have heard that some people like it as old lenses are normally of a high quality. I was hoping to use my old Minolta MC/MD lenses on the Nikon D3100. Thanks, Jules

  • Howdy @JulesWebb - Check out the Fotodiox Minolta MD to Nikon adapter (see here). As you mentioned, you'll lose autofocus and metering capabilities, but it will allow you to use some of your old lenses. Having used these adapters in the past, be aware that the sharpness is not always up to par when compared to attaching your Minolta lenses directly to a Minolta SLR.
