Continuous autofocus during video recording with D3100

edited February 2012 Posted in » Nikon D3100 Forum
How does the continuous autofocus really work with video? Would I need to constantly press the shutter button half way down? If so, that would sound to me like "half automatic". Or is there some other way to do it? Thanks!

  • @gert - When AF-F (Full-time Servo AF) is enabled, the D3100 will focus continuously during movie recording...without the need to half-press the shutter button. To enable AF-F, just press the "i" button and navigate to the right hand column of the info panel display and highlight the 'Focus Mode' tab. Press 'OK' to display the list of options and you'll see AF-F. Hope that helps and happy shooting! :)
