Shooting a low light sporting event

I am a total amateur at photography but want to get better!! I will be shooting my first demolition derby where I will be allowed to be closer to the track! I will be using my 18-55mm lens, I am wondering what settings I should use. I purchased the cheat sheets but the sporting event one doesn’t seem to work the best with low light. I need it to be a constant shot but those pictures look orange and if I use a flash I’ll be afraid I’ll miss a shot. Any suggestions? Thank you all so much!!

  • Just purchased a 1.8mm lens but photos have a green tint when viewed on the LCD display on the camera. Other lens don't have this problem anyone got any ideas for curing this?
