Does RAW affect video recording quality?

edited April 2012 Posted in » Canon 60D Forum
I own a 60D and just started shooting in RAW, due to photographing weddings and other event photos. I noticed that when I leave the setting in RAW and switch over to video, the capacity on the memory card reduces a lot. For example, on a 32GB card it went from 999 to 501. Does this effect the quality in video? I could definitely use the extra memory.

  • Howdy @brianpalvarez - RAW is specifically related to digital photography. The "remaining shots" indicator is just an estimate. It'll fluctuate when 'Live View' is enabled. Try switching back to regular shooting (disable Live View) and see if the number jumps back up.
