Best flash gun

Hi, I am just about to look at purchasing a flash gun for my D3100. Any tips or suggestions? I would like it to fit on the camera and be able to remote flash. I understand that the D3100 doesn't have command mode, so I believe that a wireless command module would be required.
So, forum, fell free to advise.
