Different Frame Sizes/Frame Rates

edited January 2016 Posted in » Nikon D5300 Forum
I went to the Nikon web site and watched the "Video Tutorial Series: Getting Started with your Nikon D3300 DSLR".

I watched the "Setting Up For And Shooting Video", and I found something that seems very strange.

In the Nikon video, the "Frame Size/Frame Rate" lists them as:

1920 X 1080 60p
1920 x 1080 30p
1920 x 1080 24p
1280 x 720 60p
640 x 424 30p

Yet when I go to my camera, they are listed as:

1920 X 1080 50p
1920 x 1080 25p
1920 x 1080 24p
1280 x 720 50p
640 x 424 25p

I bought the camera in Singapore. Did I get a knock-off Nikon, or do they have different standards for the Asian market?

What in the world is going on?

Thanks,

I think the frame rate variation depends on whether you use "PAL" or "NTSC" video standards. Western Hemisphere video is usually NTSC.

This setting can be changed in the camera.
