Moon and city shots

Hi guys, I am kind of new to cameras and I have a Canon T3i. I have a real problem when I want to take photos of the moon and the city together. The moon will be good and the city is dark or the city is good and the moon is too bright. What can I do to fix that? Thanks a lot!
