Indoor Baby Shower

Hi, I am a big fan of your work, and your site has been super helpful! I have the 18-55mm lens and the micro nikkor 40mm. I have my aunt's baby shower coming up and I was put in charge of taking pictures. I would like to know what would be the best lens to use or get to capture these pictures. The party will be during the day. I would like to capture nice pictures without breaking the budget on a super expensive lens. Please let me know your thoughts!
