Using Raynox 250

edited April 2015 Posted in » Nikon D3300 Forum
Hi, I have a D3300 and just brought the Raynox 250. It clips on fine, but I've attached it to my 18-55mm lens and it doesn't seem to magnify that great. What am I doing wrong? The shots of this little lens I've seen are fantastic, and I'd like to start taking some good macro shots myself. Thank you.

Make sure you set the zoom at its longest setting. Magnification is best at 55mm.

Although auto focus should work with a diopter on, it may be easier to find your way with manual at first. Put it on M, crank the focus to its closest and then move the whole camera in until your object is sharp. That's your close limit and greatest magnification.
