I am new to the DSLR world, but love to take lots of photos all the time. Can you please tell me what's the best settings for taking portraits? Thanks in advance!

  • Howdy @Jharar - Welcome! For portraits, just enable Aperture priority (Av on the mode dial), select an aperture between f/1.4 to f/2.8 (using the small command dial), set your ISO to Auto, and set the AF mode to 'ONE SHOT'. With these settings in place, pre-focus on the eyes by half pressing the shutter and then recompose the shot for better framing. That should get you going in the right direction. Happy shooting! :)
