Cheat sheets

edited March 2014 Posted in » Nikon D3200 Forum
Hi folks,

This is my first foray into DSLR photography, so if my question is silly, I apologize.
I purchased the D3200 cheat sheets and I'm trying to set up the camera for low light portraits.

Everything sets up fine until I try to set the ISO to auto; the option is grayed out and the camera tells me there is not enough light and I must use the flash. Any help would be appreciated.

  • Hey @frankw150 - Regarding Auto ISO, it's not located in the ISO menu. Strange huh? Why Nikon did this, I'll never know. You actually have to jump into the MENU, go to the Shooting Menu, locate ISO Sensitivity Settings and then turn Auto ISO Sensitivity to 'ON'.

Below that option, you'll see the adjustments for max sensitivity and minimum shutter speed, which are both mentioned on various cheat cards. For future reference, you can check out the very last cheat card in your set which is a quick reference. It will tell you how to enable Auto ISO and a few other things. All the best!
