Engagement Photos

I have had my camera for a while now and I'm now realizing that my skills are not where they should be. I am taking my sister's engagement pictures this weekend, and I was wondering if anyone had some tips for modes, settings and such. The lingo is a little intimidating, but I understand a little bit. Photography has always been a passion for me and I really want to get into it! Thanks in advance for the advice!

This is late post, but for the future and to other beginners it might be wise just to shoot auto mode and focus more on framing and creating good mood and getting the pictures you need. Stumbling with settings and missing all best moments is the worst thing you can do. Auto can do a decent job in the beginning.
