Replacing broken lens

edited December 2013 Posted in » Nikon D3100 Forum
I've dropped and broken my Nikon D3100's 18-55mm kit lens. Should I replace it with the same lens or look into a different one? I already have a 55-200mm lens. I need one to take pictures of busy toddlers in the house and outdoors and would like to get good pictures on Christmas morning.

At this moment, the sigma 17-50mm f/2.8 is the winner for price and quality. At f/2.8 you can make good portraits. Stabilizer works good and focus is silent and fast. Price was $800, but now it's under $400. Might still be pricey, but it's worth it.
