Hi there, I bought a Nikon D3100 last month. What is the best quality image setting? GT

  • Howdy @glenn - The "best" image quality setting would be NEF (RAW), however, it requires additional steps to process the image. You can process NEF files in-camera by going to your MENU, highlighting the 'Retouch Menu' and selecting 'NEF (RAW) processing. You can also process your files using the supplied Nikon ViewNX 2 software.

If you don't want to process your images, then the next best option would be 'JPEG Fine' with the image size set to 'Large'. Hope that helps and happy shooting! :)
