Adobe RAW converter stopped working

I'm having problems with the RAW converter. First it came up as DNG and was able to convert in post process to jpeg. Now they do not come up as DNG but as photoshop images and jep. Even more puzzling is that a lot of files are coming up as photoshop files and only some as jpeg. These of course I can see when I download them from my Canon 60D. Anyone have an idea why these things are happening now but worked when I first download the adobe converter? Thanks.
