Recommended Setup for Starting a Photography Business

edited April 2013 Posted in » Canon T2i Forum
I just started my business and I have heard and seen way too many recommendations for a kit set up. I will be taking portraits (mainly outdoor due to the fact I have no space for a studio setup) and taking photos at events. Here is my current set up:

Canon T2i Rebel
Neewer TT560 Speedlight w/ diffuser
Canon 18-55mm
Canon 50mm f/1.8
Canon 70-300mm

Is there anything else that you would recommend?

Thanks, Ace

  • Howdy @ricksnipe - I'd probably add a 32" reflector. Since you'll be shooting primarily outdoors, you can use the reflector to reduce contrast and hard shadows, warm skin tones and produce softer light for better looking portraits.

As your business grows, you'll want to invest in high quality glass like the 24-70mm f/2.8L and the 85mm f/1.2L. Both lenses are staples for wedding and portrait photographers.

All the best and happy shooting!
