Autofocus issues with Quick AF mode on the 60D

Moose - I just received my 60D. Whenever I use Live View with Quick AF mode, no picture is saved on the card. What am I doing wrong? Thanks, Newbe60d

  • Howdy @newbe60d - Quick AF mode is a bit tricky. When you half-press the shutter, the 60D goes through an autofocus process where the LCD will go black momentarily. During this process you'll be unable to take a shot and save it to your card. You actually have to wait until the Live View image re-appears after half-pressing the shutter and once that's complete, you can fully press the shutter to capture the shot. Hope that makes sense. Happy shooting! :)

@Moose, you are awesome, that was exactly it. I actually never pushed down far enough because I had assumed the picture was taken when I heard the shutter sound. How embarrassing...thank you!
