Best Lens for Filming

edited February 2013 Posted in » Nikon D5100 Forum
Hello,
I'm currently using a Nikon D5100 with AF-S DX 18-55m f/3.5-5.6 G VR lens. I use the camera a lot for filming, and most of time I have to keep an eye on the focus during filming otherwise the picture will go blurry.

So I'm looking for a new lens which is best for filming. Any advice which lens to look at?

I'm considering the 18-105mm AF-S DX Nikkor F3.5-5.6 G ED VR lens. Is that any good?

Thanks,
Thomas

I have an old 24-120mm and though it takes horribly fuzzy photos, it is fantastic for video.
  • I hear that 18-135mm lens for Canon T4i is very quiet and is ideal for video shooting. Is there something similar for Nikon D5100? I shoot video with my D5100 using 35mm and 18-55mm, and the focus noise is very loud on my recordings.
