How do I use the center focus point?

edited March 2012 Posted in » Canon T2i Forum
I was talking with a fellow T2i owner over on my Facebook page and she was wondering how to use the center focus point. I thought it would be beneficial to share our conversation with all of you...

Sarah's Question: Could you please tell me how to change the focusing points to "center"?

Moose's Answer: If you want to use the center focus point, you have to shoot in P, Tv, Av or M modes. P (program) mode is very similar to auto mode. Next, press the AF point button (rectangle icon with 4 squares inside of it) next to the thumb rest on the back of the camera. Then use the up, down, left, right arrows to choose which focus point you'd like to use.

If you want to use the centre focus point quickly, after pressing the AF point button press SET. This will toggle you between Centre focus point and automatic selection. Regards - PBked
