Software Issue

edited December 2012 Posted in » Nikon D5100 Forum
Hi,
I purchased a Nikon D5100 camera online and was supposed to load some sort of software to be able to use it. I have lost the site where I was supposed to get the software. Can anyone help me with this issue as I would like to use my new camera?

Are you by chance talking about firmware? If so, this link looks like it may be what you need. With that being said, if you just purchased the D5100, maybe they have already updated it prior to shipment. I have no idea how long cameras may be on the shelf before being purchased. The date on this firmware update is Nov. 2011. Good luck!

The firmware update you're referring to from November 2011 was for the A and B firmware updates, which are A: 1.0.1 / B:1.01. My D5100 purchased in March 2012 had those updates already included.

There's a firmware update for 1.006 distortion control data announced last summer, and you can find it here: http://www.d5100dslr.com/tutorials/firmware-upgrade-distortion-control-data/ and http://nikonimglib.com/dcdata/manual/En/lensprofile_win_en_ABF.html

It'll update your L firmware version to L 1.006. My previous version was L 1.003.

    This also applies to D90, D3100, D3200, D5000, D7000, D4, D800, and D800E models.

    Hope this helps.
