Issue With Error Message

edited November 2012 Posted in » Canon T3i Forum
Hello everyone,
I am new here and my goal is to eventually open my own business as a photographer, but until then I am working on my skills. I am having some issues with my camera. These words keep coming up:

"This function is not selectable in the current shooting mode"

Please let me know what I am doing wrong. Thanks.

@mistyphotographer - When you get the message, what mode are you in? What are you wanting to do? What do you do to make it go away or is it still there?

I am having the exact same problem. I cannot put the camera in auto, portrait, or flash off in both AF or MF without it saying "this function is not selectable in the current shooting mode". I can't figure out how to get rid of it so that I can shoot in any of those modes. I also have to manually flip up the flash to get it to work. Any ideas on how to get rid of that?
