Auto focus while filming?

Hello! I have a problem focusing when filming myself with the 60D. It is very difficult to focus on myself when I'm the only one operating the camera. So far I've been placing an object where I think I will be in the shot, focus on that and then start filming but that doesn't work half the time; it always ends up a little out of focus.

Is there an auto focus of some kind or a better method of doing this?

The AUTOFOCUS feature will not work well for low light conditions. I never use AUTOFOCUS while making movies. At the beginning it was very difficult, but after some time training, even with zoom lenses now I can do the manual focus with no problem. Remember that you can set only one point of AUTOFOCUS setting. That will make the feature more accurate. I was feeling frustrated at the beggining about that but affter training manual focusing now I can say that I am very enthusiastic with the results.
